Senior Financial Analyst

The Penske Senior Accountant will play a key role in the administration, accounting, and reporting of the company's leases. This position will work closely with various departments to provide support and expertise, focusing on reviewing financial statements, recording journal entries, and identifying cost recovery opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the business to evaluate, administer, and report on leases, applying Penske's lease accounting policies and GAAP.
- Provide support in the evaluation of contracts and maintain and update lease accounting records for new lease transactions, modifications, and terminations.
- Reconcile, analyze, and review general ledger accounts in preparation for month-end close.
- Prepare and analyze reports that support internal and external reporting, including footnote disclosure.
- Provide expertise and guidance on lease accounting policies and related GAAP.
- Investigate material balance sheet fluctuations and document differences for management.
- Prepare process measures to monitor sources that feed general ledger.
- Reconcile sub-system to general ledger to provide support for balance sheet accounts.
- Support special projects, ad hoc requests, and other duties as assigned.
- Develop and drive process improvements.
- Establish rapport and build cooperative working relationships with internal and external parties.
- At least 3 years of experience in accounting required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- Public accounting experience and/or CPA, CMA, MBA preferred.
- Experience with AS400, Onestream, and/or Tririga preferred.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong team player and self-driven individual.
- Ability to multi-task and meet reporting requirement deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint required.
