Histology Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Histology Technician to join our team in a contract position. As a Histology Technician, you will be responsible for performing Histology and Immunohistochemistry procedures and techniques in preparation for examination by the Pathologist.

Key Responsibilities

• Receives and processes surgical specimens, logs accessions, and assigns accession numbers.
• Enters specimen data and patient information into the computer system.
• Checks for errors and discrepancies, and brings them to the supervisor's attention.
• Performs advanced and specialized Histology and Immunohistochemistry techniques.
• Assists the Histology Supervisor in administrative requirements, such as procedure writing.

Requirements

• Associates degree (AS) or equivalent education, training, or experience.
• Certified Histotechnician (HT) through the American Society for Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent certification.
