Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Straightening Worker to join our team at Miller Castings. As a Straightening Worker, you will be responsible for using various tools and machinery to straighten steel, stainless steel, and aluminum castings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Retrieve, store, and maintain calibration status of equipment.
  • Interpret instructions for straightening castings and use measuring tools and machinery to achieve accurate results.
  • Verify calibration status of measurement equipment prior to use and ensure all tools are in good working condition.
  • Check in and out work in process operations and verify router to confirm prior, current, and next operation.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved instructions. You should be able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands of this job include frequent standing, use of hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and hearing. You will occasionally be required to walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch. You must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

You will be required to wear personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel toe shoes. Additionally, you may be required to wear heat protective gloves, face shield, coat, and sleeves depending on the task.

The work environment is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and the noise level is usually loud.
