Bartender Job Description

This position reports to the Assistant Manager or General Manager at TBL Investments.

Most bartenders will also work as a server, so they must also be familiar with the server job descriptions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Mix and serve drinks and food to patrons directly or through wait staff.
  • Complete training program and pass tests.
  • Come to work on time and prepared for your shift in proper uniform.
  • Greet Guest and Follow Steps of Service (as outlined in training manual).
  • Present Check and Collect payment.
  • Check identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
  • Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading them to stop drinking or ordering taxis or other transportation.
  • Stock the bar with beer, wine, liquor as per par levels. Refill ice, fruit, glassware, napkins and straws.
  • Clean and organize bar and work areas.
  • Cash out with manager providing all necessary documents (credit card slips, house charges).
Requirements:
  • Using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Standing or walking for long periods of time (4-6 hours).
  • Lifting/carrying up to 30 pounds.
  • Repetitive movement.
