Key Responsibilities- Research and track ongoing legislative and regulatory changes that affect in-person assisters and healthcare consumers with a high degree of organization and attention to detail.
- Summarize legislative rules that impact program outcomes, creating written summaries, white papers, and PowerPoint presentations when appropriate.
- Function as a policy analyst by reviewing, drafting, and producing rigorous, empirically-based policies, procedures, and recommendations that have been thoroughly researched for a policy-making audience.
- Design, analyze, interpret, and develop policy documentation, requirements, and specifications.
- Serve as a resource expert for external customers, utilizing expertise to research and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Research and produce ad-hoc narrative reports and option papers with minimal turnaround time and with a high level of accuracy.
- Collaborate with scrum teams in reviewing requirements, specifications, and support to ensure they are in line with policy objectives.
- Review documentation created by staff for accuracy related to policy.
- Advise leadership of potential challenges in implementation of policy.
- Assist with writing and formatting policy and project documentation, ensuring deliverables meet editorial and company standards for quality, graphics, format, and style.
- Assist with the preparation of training materials and facilitating training for staff and customers.
- Understand Section 508 compliance standards and apply principles to written documents to be posted to the web.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Bachelor's degree and at least 6+ years of relevant full-time work experience.
- 8+ years of health policy experience, preferably with experience developing and clearing written materials with a legal team.
- Advanced research skills and experience working with healthcare policy issues related to implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), the Federally-facilitated Marketplace at, and preferably with Title I, the No Surprises Act (NSA) and Title II, Transparency of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 (CAA).
- Expert-level proficiency in formatting MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and Adobe PDF documents.
- Experience delivering presentations, facilitating health policy trainings, and/or public speaking.
- Candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.
- Candidate must have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years.
- Ability to interact professionally with a diverse customer group including executives, managers, subject matter experts, stakeholders, and team members.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on multiple tasks, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail while providing timely responses under time constraints.
- Advanced time management skills, with the ability to set priorities and complete work when under time constraints.
- Ability and willingness to learn new software applications and processes.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytic, and qualitative skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
