We are a leading animal care provider seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Veterinary Intern to join our team. As a Veterinary Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the veterinary field and develop your skills in animal care and treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with animal care and treatment, ensuring the highest level of care and compassion for our patients.
  • Provide basic animal care, including feeding, bathing, and exercising, to maintain the health and well-being of our animals.
  • Clean and maintain animal cages, exam rooms, and other areas of the hospital, adhering to strict hygiene and sanitation standards.
  • Assist with laboratory procedures, including blood work and other diagnostic tests, to help our veterinarians make informed decisions about patient care.
  • Assist with radiology procedures, including taking and developing X-rays, to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of our patients.
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients and their pets, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience for all.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by our veterinarians and management team, including administrative tasks and special projects.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a strong foundation in science and mathematics.
  • Enrollment in a veterinary assistant or technician program, with a focus on animal care and treatment.
  • Experience working with animals, either in a professional or volunteer capacity, with a demonstrated ability to handle a variety of species and situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with our veterinarians, technicians, and clients.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm for animal care and treatment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with a strong physical presence and ability to move quickly and safely around the hospital.
