HS Journalism Teacher

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HS Journalism Teacher to join our team at Charter Schools USA. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing a flexible program and classroom environment that fosters student learning and personal growth.

• Instruction/Education Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that maximize student learning opportunities
  • Review student records to understand individual needs and abilities
  • Strive to maximize student educational achievement
  • Utilize a variety of teaching modalities to cater to different learning styles
  • Conduct regular diagnostic assessments to monitor student progress
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records
  • Identify students who require additional support and refer them to relevant resources
  • Assign and review student work, including written assignments and oral presentations
  • Coordinate class field trips and other educational activities
  • Prepare students for state-mandated assessments
• Provide a Classroom Environment Conducive to Learning
  • Create a learning environment that is safe, clean, and conducive to student growth
  • Ensure the classroom is well-organized and displays student work
  • Implement school policies and guidelines for student conduct
  • Develop and enforce classroom rules that promote a positive and respectful learning environment
• Instructional Planning
  • Develop lesson plans that align with established guidelines and goals
  • Design individual and group learning activities that cater to student needs
  • Prepare for classes and demonstrate evidence of preparation upon request
  • Participate in curriculum planning and development
  • Integrate diagnostic information into lesson plans to support student learning
  • Take necessary precautions to protect school resources and equipment
• School/Community Relations
  • Establish positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians
  • Cooperate with school administrators and staff
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and events

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• Valid teaching certification (as required)
• Equivalent combination of education and experience
