Math Instructor

Sylvan Learning Center, a leading provider of educational services, is seeking an experienced math instructor to join our team in the Los Angeles area. Our programs aim to increase confidence and independence in students from Kindergarten to High School, providing them with skills that will last a lifetime.

We are looking for a dynamic and engaging math teacher to deliver our programs on Archdiocese school campuses in the LA area. As an Instructor at Sylvan, your primary responsibilities will be to teach math to students, providing a fun and interactive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach math to students in a classroom setting.
• Develop and implement lesson plans to meet the needs of students.
• Evaluate and document student progress to track their growth.
• Communicate with the center director to ensure individual learning plans are met.
• Establish a positive and supportive learning environment that fosters creativity and confidence.

Requirements:

• 2 years of experience teaching or tutoring on a school campus is required.
• State or provincial teaching credentials are preferred.
• Ability to teach general math through pre-algebra.
• A fun and enthusiastic teaching style, ability to motivate students, and positive attitude.

We offer competitive compensation with rates ranging from $23-$25/hour. Additionally, we provide a travel stipend of $10 per day for travel to school sites.
