Controller - Financial Strategist - Kenosha, WI

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Controller to partner directly with the CFO at a rapidly growing manufacturer located near Kenosha, WI. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting function, leading a team of 2+ individuals, and driving efficiency and profitability improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Review and present financial reports accurately and promptly, effectively communicating monthly and yearly financial statements.
  • Lead and manage the annual audit process, coordinating with external auditors and evaluating necessary changes.
  • Monitor and adapt to changes in cost accounting practices.
  • Oversee and manage the annual budgeting and planning process in alignment with the Strategic Plan, reviewing and administering all financial plans and budgets.
  • Manage fixed assets and prepare capital budgets.
  • Conduct research and implement strategies for cost reduction and process improvements.
  • Supervise inventory control and manage the physical inventory reconciliation process.
  • Maintain a strong track record of setting priorities, with excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills to facilitate sound decision-making.
  • Commit to training programs that align with and enhance both individual and organizational goals.
  • Work closely with State and Federal Agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Manufacturing or related industry experience.
  • Management experience needed.
  • Hands-on experience as a Controller.
  • Cost exposure nice to have.
  • Audit start/background nice to have.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the existing team.
  • Ability to work independently as well.
  • Attention to detail and to perform multiple tasks at once.
