We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Actalent. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in the operating room, working closely with surgeons, registered nurses, and other surgical staff to ensure the smooth execution of surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning them on the operating table and covering them with sterile surgical drapes.
- Help prepare the operating room prior to an operation by setting up surgical instruments and equipment, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions.
- Work with Sterile Processing to arrange sterile setup for surgical procedures.
- Ensure proper instrumentation for each procedure, including assembling both sterile and non-sterile equipment.
- Participate in all counts (instruments, sponges, sharps, etc.) as needed.
- Assist with maintenance of supplies and equipment.
- Ensure all medications are labeled and handed to the surgeon according to established policies and procedures.
- Prepare dressings or bandages and apply or assist with their application following surgery.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience in an operating room (OR) setting or documentation of equivalent education or training.
- BLS certification.
- Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology or LVN license in Kansas (desirable).
- Certification in surgical technology (desirable).
