Key Responsibilities- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential threats and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Insurance Program Management: Oversee and manage our insurance programs, including general liability, property, EPLI, terrorism, and workers' compensation.
- Claims Management: Investigate and manage claims, providing supporting documentation and negotiating settlements with claimants and carriers.
- Contract Review: Review and analyze insurance sections of contracts between our organization and service providers, recommending appropriate insurance coverages.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for premiums, claims, and costs related to managing and defending claims.
- Underwriting and Renewals: Assist in the compilation and review of underwriting data, manage competitive bidding processes for insurance renewals, and oversee the compilation and review of certificates of insurance.
- Communication and Collaboration: Provide guidance to the purchasing department, work with site purchasing departments to implement a formal COI tracking/receiving process, and frequent contact with insurance brokers to evaluate coverages and address business insurance-related matters.
- Worker's Compensation and Safety: Assist the site safety department in managing worker's compensation claims and work proactively with business units to recognize, address, and mitigate business risk.
- Education and Experience: Possess a four-year college-level degree program with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance and/or risk management, with experience in the health and safety area preferred.
- Skills and Qualifications: Strong Microsoft Office Suite computer skills, strong organizational, time management, written, and verbal communication skills, ability to maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor, and adherence to ISO and OHSAS policies established by FMG.
