We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Survivor Advocate to join our team at the University of North Texas. As a key member of the Dean of Students Office, you will play a critical role in providing crisis intervention and support services to students who have experienced trauma, violence, or other forms of harm.
Key Responsibilities- Provide initial point of contact for student crisis support, medical care, counseling, law enforcement, and other services on campus and off campus.
- Serve as a Campus Security Authority for Clery and a Responsible Employee under Title IX.
- Coordinate with professors and housing to facilitate necessary considerations for class changes and verified absences, and/or implement safety parameters.
- Support survivors throughout investigations, safety planning, and criminal proceedings.
- Facilitate communication between survivors and various systems, including police agencies, university officials, and district attorneys' office staff.
- Organize campus and community collaborative partnerships, programming, and prevention efforts.
- Advise the student group, It's On Us, a national organization aimed at combating sexual assault on college campuses.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and two years' of student services, student affairs, counseling, advising, or related experience.
- Excellent public speaking skills, leadership, and mentoring abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, and computer skills.
