PacifiCorp is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant General Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will provide legal advice on complex energy and transactional issues, with a primary emphasis on energy generation and dispatch, state and federal environmental regulations, and energy markets.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide legal counsel on energy generation, energy markets, and state and federal environmental regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations related to PacifiCorp's generation, energy management, and supply, corporate, and operational activities and transactions.
- Assess and mitigate legal risks of company activities and advise management and other company personnel on legal and strategic matters.
- Participate in contract negotiation and ensure compliance with contract terms.
- Monitor and maintain current knowledge of industry trends in legal and compliance matters relating to the electricity industry and pursue ongoing professional development to maintain current knowledge on best practices.
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school and successful completion of bar exam in one or more states in which the company conducts business (or the ability to transfer to obtain state accreditation).
- A minimum of eight years previous law firm, government, or corporate legal experience.
- Demonstrated in-depth experience and knowledge of energy, electricity regulatory, and/or energy marketing issues.
- Familiarity with the political and legal implications of decisions made by electric utilities.
- Management skills including the ability to negotiate with and influence peers and senior officers on policy and strategic issues.
- Communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to manage and motivate employees.

- Annual discretionary performance incentive bonus of up to 25.00% of salary.
