The University of Miami/UHealth is seeking a dedicated RN Case Manager to join our Case Management team at the UTower location.

This role operates under the guidance of the Director of Case Management, serving as a vital link in the patient care continuum.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply essential principles of utilization management, ensuring that patient transfers or discharges are aligned with assessed needs and organizational capabilities.
  • Coordinate the delivery of clinical and community services, optimizing the use of available resources for patients and their families.
  • Oversee observation patients within the assigned unit, conducting InterQual reviews for admissions and continued stays, while reporting avoidable days and facilitating clinical reviews with third-party payors.
  • Evaluate the appropriateness and cost-effectiveness of patient care plans, escalating complex cases to the Director or Care Coordination Manager as necessary.
  • Engage proactively with physicians to formulate patient care plans and assess medical necessity for ongoing hospital services and resource utilization.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BSN from an accredited nursing program.
  • Active RN license in the State of Florida.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in Hospital Case Management or nursing.
  • Familiarity with patient assessment and medical terminology.
  • Current BLS - CPR Certification.
