As an Emergency Room Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide direct patient care and work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality patient care in the emergency department.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Conduct physical exams, take medical histories, and order diagnostic tests as needed.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments as authorized.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree from a program accredited by the National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurses Association or another nationally recognized certifying body.
  • Authorization for prescriptive authority.
  • Current certifications in American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Ability to communicate, understand, read, and write English proficiently.

The noise level in the work environment ranges regularly from quiet to loud.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sit, stand, walk, talk, or hear.
  • Remain in a stationary position with prolonged periods of sitting, standing, or walking.
  • Move about to accomplish tasks or move from one worksite to another.
  • Communicate with others to exchange information (face-to-face, listen, talk, type, etc.).
  • Use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and smell.
  • Use a computer keyboard intermittently, repeating the same movements (using wrists, hands, and fingers).
  • Have the ability to physically move or lift patients and use proper posture to avoid injury.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
