POSITION OVERVIEW

NOV Chemineer, a leader in the manufacturing of mixing solutions, is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Production Material Handlers. Our facility, renowned for its innovation and quality, is located in Dayton, Ohio, and has been operational for over 70 years. We are currently looking to expand our workforce by adding three skilled Material Handlers to our production team. The compensation for this role ranges from $22 to $25 per hour, based on experience, with an additional shift premium of $2 per hour for those working off-shifts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Efficiently receive, store, and distribute materials to specified locations using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and cranes.
  • Employ JDE and RF Smart systems to accurately monitor and manage inventory levels.
  • Prepare and select materials for production orders in accordance with work orders and production timelines, ensuring prompt delivery to production lines.
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks, verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Investigate any inventory discrepancies or misplaced items.
  • Maintain precise records of all material movements, transactions, and adjustments in JDE and RF Smart systems.
  • Pick and pack smaller orders for shipment, ensuring proper packing and labeling according to contents, and prepare necessary shipping documentation.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to foster a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of material handling equipment, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
  • Collaborate closely with production, warehouse, and quality control teams to ensure seamless material flow and address any challenges promptly.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional work-related tasks as assigned.
  • Utilize safe work practices consistently.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in a manufacturing setting as a material handler or in a similar role.
  • Proficient in operating forklifts (both standup and sitdown) and cranes, with the ability to obtain certification.
  • Experience with ERP systems for inventory management, including pulling, picking, transacting, and packing items.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to pass a drug screening and background check.
  • Basic mechanical skills and aptitude for machinery operation.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination are essential.
  • Capable of working effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Flexibility to adapt and be cross-trained in various job functions.
  • Physical demands include standing for extended periods, frequent lifting of up to 15 lbs., and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Commitment to following all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
