A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MEDICAL ASSISTANT
- Assist with on-site admissions, immunizations, drug screenings, and other scheduled tests.
- Provide direct patient care, including vital sign monitoring and transportation, under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
- Demonstrate competency in administering Blood Pressure, Pulse, and Narcan.
- Engage in consultations with physicians, nurses, and the Medical Manager to make informed decisions regarding patient care.
- Perform clerical tasks, such as answering phones and entering orders, as required.
- Effectively prioritize and execute tasks for assigned patients in a timely manner, following the guidance of licensed nursing staff.
- Facilitate clear communication among clients, staff, physicians, and visitors.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MEDICAL ASSISTANT
- Completion of Medical Assistant education or a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
- Proficiency in computer applications is essential.
