We are seeking a highly skilled Senior CNC Machine Technician to join our team at ASCENDING.

**Job Summary:**

This is a full-time position that involves up to 100% travel to customer facilities, providing advanced troubleshooting and repair of CNC machine tools, including 5-axis machines, mills, and lathes. You will play a key role in ensuring the functionality and performance of machine tools while working in a dynamic environment that values expertise and adaptability.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Dismantle and prepare machines for shipment to ensure timely delivery.
  • Perform machine leveling and alignment to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Troubleshoot and repair major machine tool problems, including 5-axis machines, mills, and lathes, using advanced technical skills and knowledge.
  • Disassemble, repair, and rebuild machine tool sub-assemblies and assemblies to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Organize and tag components for reassembly to streamline the process.
  • Replace or repair damaged components to minimize downtime and optimize productivity.
  • Conduct first-time power-up and troubleshooting of machines to identify potential issues.
  • Perform servo system tuning and advanced troubleshooting of electronic circuitry to ensure optimal performance.
  • Train customers on CNC control system operations to improve their understanding and proficiency.
  • Report activities and expenses timely and accurately to ensure seamless financial management.

**Requirements:

  • Authorization to work in the United States (U.S. citizenship required).
  • Willingness to travel up to 100% for extended periods.
  • At least 5 years of experience in machine tool field service with a proven track record of success.
  • Advanced knowledge of machine tools and terminology, including troubleshooting 5-axis machines, mills, and lathes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse equipment rather than staying on the same machine or with the same company for extended periods unless project-based.
  • Associate degree in electronic engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and components, as well as intermediate parametric programming and ladder logic knowledge.
  • Excellent interpersonal and computer skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods without fatigue.
