About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Snowflake Cloud Data Platform Administrator to join our team at Novon Consulting. As a key member of our data platform team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing Snowflake cloud data platforms that meet industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Implement Snowflake Cloud Data Platforms: Plan, design, develop, and implement Snowflake cloud data platforms that meet industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with internal and external customers to ensure technical deployments for Snowflake are successful.
  • Implement Automation and Security: Implement automation for production deployment in Snowflake, and ensure security best practices are followed, including cost monitoring and optimizations, user security auditing, and data encryption/decryption/masking policies.
  • Optimize Database Performance: Propose and implement database/query performance optimizations, and identify system bottlenecks and recommend solutions.
  • Monitor and Analyze Data: Implement Snowflake user/query log analysis and alerts, and create Snowflake utilization and capacity plans.
Requirements
  • Technical Expertise: Strong technical expertise in all aspects of Snowflake, including implementing external functions, securing sensitive data, and administering Snowflake in Azure.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience in Snowflake administration, and minimum 5 years of database administration and data engineering experience.
  • Certifications: Snowflake Pro certification preferred, and Azure certification a plus.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree and 5 years of work experience, or master's degree and 3 years of work experience in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Azure Experience: Experience using Azure services, including Azure alerting/monitoring tools.
  • Spark and Airflow Experience: Experience with Spark and Airflow a plus.
