Project Cost Manager Role

We are seeking a skilled Project Cost Manager to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for assisting in the development and management of project financial strategies. Your primary focus will be on managing project budgets, costs, change orders, pricing requests, billings, and forecasts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with project disciplines to ensure understanding of total project cost budget allowances and targets.
  • Review project documents and specifications to accurately identify, develop, and track requests for change orders, baseline estimates, and potential risk exposures.
  • Work closely with the accounting department to ensure accurate integration of all information needed for billings, payment applications, change orders, direct costs, labor costs, and other financial aspects.
  • Communicate effectively with the project management team, executive management personnel, subcontractors, and occasional clients.
  • Responsible for cost engineering, cost estimation, cost analysis, and control activities for projects with significant non-routine requirements or proposal estimating activities.
  • Ensure quality, accuracy, consistency, and transparency in all cost management deliverables.
  • Take ownership of the cost control function and ensure integrity of the cost and forecast reporting.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of project development stages, procurement, project controls, and construction execution practices.
  • Working knowledge of applicable computer software such as PMWeb or similar project portfolio management software, data serve, Excel, JDE, and other relevant tools.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and ability to deliver results-oriented solutions.
  • PMP certification is highly desirable.
