Overview
We are looking for a committed Human Resources Assistant/Benefits Specialist to become a vital part of the human resources team at Mississippi County Hospital System. Your primary role will involve managing and administering a variety of employee benefits, such as retirement plans, disability insurance, and health coverage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support employees with enrollment in benefits programs, including health insurance and retirement plans.
- Conduct informative presentations and meetings to clarify benefits for employees.
- Act as a liaison with insurance and savings providers on behalf of employees and the organization.
- Address inquiries or concerns from employees regarding their benefits.
- Maintain accurate records of employee benefits.
- Calculate the overall cost to the organization of various benefits options.
- Assist with payroll processes.
- Ensure compliance of the company’s benefits policy with applicable laws and regulations.
- Notify employees of any changes to their benefits.
- Provide support for all internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests.
- Keep digital and electronic records of employees organized.
- Serve as a point of contact for HR-related matters.
- Assist in the recruitment process by identifying candidates, conducting reference checks, and preparing employment contracts.
- Manage calendars for the HR management team.
- Oversee the completion of compensation and benefits documentation.
- Assist with performance management processes.
- Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events, and maintain agendas.
- Conduct orientations and update records for new staff members.
- Generate and submit reports on general HR activities.
- Process payroll and resolve any discrepancies.
- Complete termination paperwork and conduct exit interviews.
- Stay informed about the latest HR trends and best practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED with two years of experience in benefits administration.
- Degree in human resources or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in human resources, particularly in benefits.
- Familiarity with payroll and benefits management software.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, including Excel.
