Position Summary

At Blackburn's Physicians Pharmacy, we are committed to enhancing our team by recruiting top-tier talent and retaining our valued employees. We are currently in search of a Customer Service Representative to join our Corporate Office, dedicated to addressing our clients' needs. Under general supervision, the representative will manage the efficient processing of patient accounts, coordinate service scheduling, maintain patient records, and prepare all necessary delivery documentation. The ideal candidate is passionate about engaging with individuals and proactively resolving issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle all incoming orders via phone and fax in accordance with departmental protocols.
  • Respond to calls promptly, delivering exceptional service to clients and referral sources.
  • Gather and input customer demographics comprehensively (including insurance and medical details).
  • Document infectious disease information as per established guidelines.
  • Input data into the computer system accurately in designated fields.
  • Complete necessary intake forms as required.
  • Facilitate patient setup, including insurance verifications and necessary documentation.
  • Collect medical documentation such as prescriptions and authorizations as needed.
  • Provide accurate coding to healthcare providers and referral sources upon request.
  • Prepare and send price quotes and product information to insurance companies.
  • Ensure customers have not previously received equipment.
  • Process equipment requests and specifications as necessary.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and equipment exchanges when required.
  • Verify orders and confirm billing details as needed.
  • Manage commercial and institutional accounts in accordance with specific agreements.
  • Confirm discharge dates prior to processing orders.
  • Ensure return work orders contain all necessary information and signatures.
  • Maintain a monthly Open Order Report.
  • Keep a comprehensive library of insurance guidelines and product information.
  • Educate referral sources through various communication methods.
  • Conduct research on inquiries and product supplies as necessary.
  • Support in-service training sessions as requested.
  • Assist in training new staff and support colleagues as needed.
  • Provide options to customers or referral sources as required.
  • Conduct customer satisfaction surveys as requested.
  • Document all customer concerns in the system.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned by management.
Essential Skills:
  • Effective communication with clients via phone, email, and chat.
  • Proficient data entry across various platforms.
Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional college credits, certifications, or degrees are preferred. Candidates must be detail-oriented and possess strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Familiarity with medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy is advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Exceptional phone etiquette and strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
