Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivers respiratory support; applies sterile dressings; follows infection prevention protocols; performs catheter insertions; reinserts feeding tubes, manages wound care; gathers specimens; assists medical professionals during examinations, treatments, and laboratory procedures; responds to emergencies by providing first aid and performing CPR; restrains patients when necessary; administers both controlled and non-controlled medications in various forms, including oral, rectal, topical, and injectable, while offering medication guidance to patients.
  • Maintains accurate medication accountability records (e.g., documents patient information, prepares and counts medications, oversees medication inventory and medical supplies); observes, records, and reports on patient conditions (e.g., medication side effects, treatment outcomes, patient behavior and progress) and prepares and maintains relevant documentation (e.g., incident reports, patient files, medication logs, restraint records, treatment plans).
  • Provides comprehensive nursing care and direct support (e.g., monitors patient vital signs; assists with personal hygiene, bathing, and daily living tasks; applies topical treatments and administers eye, ear, and nasal drops; responds to patient emergencies; escorts patients and aids in recreational activities and scheduled appointments; delivers individual and group therapeutic interventions as outlined in the treatment plan).
  • Offers guidance and training to junior nursing staff (e.g., therapeutic program aides, psychiatric attendants) in delivering basic nursing care (e.g., dressing, bathing, feeding) to patients; mentors and directs new LPN staff as assigned; participates in various meetings (e.g., staff discussions, committees, interdisciplinary team meetings, training sessions) as required.
  • Orders medications and medical supplies; maintains cleanliness of the nursing station and medication storage areas (e.g., cleans, sterilizes, and restocks supplies; defrosts and sanitizes medication refrigerators) and performs administrative tasks (e.g., answers calls, files documents); ensures the security of the unit.
Compensation and Work Schedule:

  • The position is classified as an Established Term Appointment (ETA) with a maximum duration of ten (10) consecutive months.
* Hourly wage of $25.61 with a step increase after 2080 hours of service.

  • ETAs are eligible for healthcare benefits.
  • ETAs receive personal leave every four months.
  • Work schedules are determined based on the hospital's operational needs, with no guaranteed hours, shifts, or locations.
  • Shifts may vary, including weekends and holidays.

Shift Details:
6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM, 10:30 PM - 7:00 AM, including weekends and holidays.

Additional Information:

  • Completion of a full-time, four-week orientation is required.
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays; potential exposure to communicable diseases and unpredictable patient behaviors.
  • Ongoing training and development are necessary to maintain classification after employment.

Licensure Requirements:
