About the Job

The Senior Controls Engineer position at KLM Careers requires a technical leader with expertise in implementing automation solutions using PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA platforms. This role involves direct interaction with customers, leading a team of engineers to identify requirements, develop specifications, and implement, test, commission, and qualify automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver innovative automation solutions either independently or as a team leader
  • Conceptualize, detail, and implement control systems for industrial processes
  • Develop control system architecture and select components
  • Program controllers (PLC, DCS, RTU) and process visualizations (HMI/SCADA)
  • Implement and commission control systems at client facilities
  • Develop project execution plans, work breakdown structures, and budgets
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians, leading project teams
  • Oversee daily project operations up to $1M and ensure profitability

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Greater than 10 years of relevant experience in automation engineering
  • Proven experience managing and guiding automation design and implementation projects
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements in the Life Science industry
  • Strong knowledge of IT/OT networking and automation protocols
