Job Summary

MedStar Health is seeking a skilled Community Health Educator to join our team at MedStar St. Mary's Hospital. As a Community Health Educator, you will work collaboratively with local communities and Clinical Health Educators to design, implement, and evaluate health promotion, prevention, and education programs. This role is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and facilitate community-based health education programs, health and wellness events, and support groups.
  • Conduct health screenings, including phlebotomy, flu vaccinations, and point-of-care testing.
  • Provide patient education and support coordination in in-patient hospital settings.
  • Work on assigned grant-related projects, collecting and reporting data points and outcome measurements.
  • Staff a minimum of 24 events/classes annually, including weekend events.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field or associate degree with 10 years' experience.
  • 1-2 years' experience in adult education/training.
