Job Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant will perform various services and related activities in support of patient care including accurate data entry for patient registration and insurance verification. This role requires strong communication skills, good judgment, and the ability to work effectively with patients, families, licensed personnel, insurance companies, and third-party payers.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Meet expectations of OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Assist physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in delivering superior medical care.
  • Accurate data entry of charges on patient accounts, registering patients, and updating patient accounts.
  • Insurance verification and recording of statistics.
  • Assist with scheduling patient appointments, answering phones, keeping providers informed of changes, and informing patients of their benefits.
Requirements
  • A. Education/Skills
    High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred.
  • B. Experience
    1 year of medical office experience preferred.
  • C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
    Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification in the state of employment is required.
    BLS from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.

This full-time position offers a competitive salary estimated at $45,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
