Job Summary

The Saint Joseph Villa is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Companion to provide support and care to our Sisters. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and comfort of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accompany Sisters to medical appointments, hospital visits, and emergency room admissions, providing emotional support and comfort throughout the process.
  • Complete a communication log for each transport, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Verify the hospital or ER destination prior to departure and assist with transporting the Sister back to the Villa upon discharge.
  • Provide companionship and assistance to Sisters within the Villa, including walking and transfers, as needed.
  • Answer call lights and respond to Sisters' requests within the scope of your position.
  • Maintain confidentiality and report any concerns or issues to the assigned Nurse.
  • Escort Sisters as needed and assist with personal laundry tasks.
  • Report any hazardous conditions or equipment to the Nurse immediately.
  • Follow established isolation precautions and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalency
  • Valid PA Driver's License
  • C.N.A. certification preferred
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with older adults
  • Ability to support Sisters' needs
  • Ability to communicate with healthcare professionals
  • Ability to collaborate with other Partners in Mission
Physical and Environmental Requirements
  • Heavy to moderate physical effort
  • Lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent kneeling/stooping/crouching/reaching/bending
  • Frequently moves/lifts supplies or equipment
  • Frequently transfers and re-positions residents
