Ascension Illinois is a leading healthcare provider in the Chicago area, offering compassionate and personalized care to patients of all ages. We are currently seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Ascension St. Mary Hospital in Kankakee, IL.

About the Role

This role involves working as part of a dynamic surgical team to facilitate safe and efficient surgical procedures. As a Surgical Technologist, you will be responsible for preparing the operating suite with sterile equipment and supplies, handing instruments and supplies to surgeons during surgery, and maintaining a clean and organized environment throughout the procedure.

  • Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile drapes and solutions, and appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
  • Hand required/requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
  • Assist with patient preparation, positioning, and draping.
  • Maintain instrument count and monitor/track instrument usage throughout procedures.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with 2 years of cumulative experience in a related field or an associate's degree/technical degree. Additionally, you must hold a valid BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross, obtained within one month of hire date.

We also require one or more of the following credentials: National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). If you have these qualifications, please ensure they are up to date and ready to present upon application.

We also offer competitive salaries, commensurate with experience. For this position, the estimated salary range is $23.84 - $35.76 per hour, with a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 available to qualified candidates.
