MedStar Health is seeking a highly skilled Security Officer to ensure a safe environment for our patients, staff, and visitors. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for patrolling hospital property, responding to calls for assistance, and reporting on conditions that may impact the security and/or safety of patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Immediately respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to employees and customers.
  • Conduct designated security patrols throughout the facility as directed.
  • Patrol the hospital campus/grounds via security motor vehicle or bicycle.
  • Control access to and inspect packages of those leaving buildings.
  • Report all safety, security, and law violations.
  • Monitor security and appearance of lobbies, waiting areas, elevators, and entrances.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-2 years related security, corrections, or law enforcement experience.
  • 1-2 years of MedStar experience may be substituted for direct law enforcement experience.
  • Driver's License - Endorsement P (Passenger) Valid driver's license.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support).
  • SPO.
  • IAHSS certification preferred.
