We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Limestone Correctional Facility in Brent, AL. As a Behavioral Health LPN, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the well-being of our patients.
Responsibilities- Initiate the admission process and assist with identifying recurrent health problems, symptoms, and behavioral changes of inmates.
- Collect pertinent data through observation, interview, and other members of the health team, and communicate changes in the inmate condition to other inmate care providers.
- Record all data obtained through assessment in the inmate's medical record.
- Assist in the formation of a written plan, identifying both short-term and long-term timed measurable goals with anticipated behavioral changes.
- Assist with inmate healthcare, including assisting physician in minor medical/surgical procedures, transcribing and posting all therapeutic orders generated by the physician, and administering routine and/or PRN medications as ordered.
- Initiate and document prescribed treatments for nursing interventions in compliance with policy and procedure.
- Keep health team informed of observations and changing conditions of inmates.
- Count CDs drugs and contraband, if requested.
- Practice universal precautions when providing nursing procedures.
