We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Critical Care/ICU team at The University of Chicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with physicians to assess, design, coordinate, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with physicians to assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and monitoring patient vital signs
- Delegate tasks to other care team members as needed to ensure efficient and effective patient care
- Monitor patient outcomes and adjust care plans as necessary to ensure optimal patient care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with an Associate's degree in Nursing or higher
- Current RN licensure in the State of Illinois or valid temporary permit to practice nursing in the State of Illinois
- Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- At least 5 years of experience in acute care or related field, with a focus on critical care
- Completion of basic ECG class within 1 year of employment
- Completion of critical care course within 1 year of employment or current CCRN certification
- Completion of advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) program within 1 year of employment and maintenance of certification
- Completion of code leader program within 2 years of employment
- Completion of Sheath removal class within 2 years of employment
- NIH Certification within 1 year of ACLS completion
