Position Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
As a Trauma Therapist, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive assessments, therapeutic interventions, and trauma-focused services to individuals of all ages who have encountered traumatic experiences. Your role will encompass the following duties:
- Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based practices (e.g., TF-CBT, ACT, PE, CPT, EMDR, PCIT, TAP);
- Provide immediate support to clients facing crises;
- Assess and direct clients to suitable trauma treatment options;
- Collaborate with clients and families to identify necessary services;
- Work alongside case managers to align client needs with community resources, educational institutions, and workplaces;
- Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable objectives;
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including progress notes;
- Exhibit sound clinical judgment in decision-making processes;
- Demonstrate cultural competence and sensitivity while engaging with diverse populations;
- Ensure clients receive respectful and empowering treatment tailored to their specific needs.
A Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related discipline is preferred, along with a minimum of two years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families affected by trauma. Bilingual candidates are preferred. Candidates should be licensed or license-eligible and possess reliable transportation, liability insurance, and a valid driver's license.
Essential Skills:
The ideal candidate will be adept at fostering a respectful environment and adjusting treatment approaches based on the unique needs of participants. Strong verbal and written communication skills, familiarity with evidence-based treatment models, and a solid understanding of trauma-affected populations are essential.
