We are seeking a qualified adjunct instructor to teach Visual Design for the Web within the Graphic & Interactive Design Program.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of contemporary graphic design practices, designing for the web and screen-based platforms, a strong portfolio of both professional work, and a commitment to fostering creativity and critical thinking skills among students.
Responsibilities:- Teach Visual Design for the Web in a MAC design studio/classroom.
- Provide individual and group critiques to students, offering constructive feedback and guidance to enhance their understanding and application of the design process.
- Remain current on trends and developments in contemporary graphic design, the marketplace, and pedagogy as it relates to teaching graphic design at the college level.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Arts & Design Department to contribute to the overall advancement of the program.
- Provide academic advisement and support to students, including assistance with portfolio development, transfer opportunities and applications, exhibition opportunities, and career guidance.
- Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Minimum of two years of college-level teaching experience with a record of effective instruction and student engagement.
- Mastery in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign and other collaborative web applications and platforms.
- Demonstrated expertise in Graphic Design, especially web-based design solutions, with a strong portfolio showcasing technical proficiency and professional work.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively connect with a diverse student population.
- Commitment to teaching excellence and student success.
