Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit Job Specialty: PCU

Job Description:
- Work in Progressive Care Unit, floating required within scope of practice to IMCU/Tele/CDU if needed.
- Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses such as general respiratory failure, cardiac, renal, CIWA, GI.
- Manage mixed Tele and IMCU patients across two floors (IMCU with 1:3 ratio, Tele with 1:4 ratio).
- Engage in special procedures such as Pre/Post cardiac cath, Bipap, CPAP/BiPap, Cardioversion/Defibrillation.
- Perform specialized care involving cooling/warming blankets, 12 Lead EKG, drains, epidural pumps, feeding tubes, PCA pumps, PICC/Central lines, Port-A Cath access/care, syringe pumps, triple lumen catheters, wound vac.
- Administer medications including Amiodarone, Antiarrhythmics, Antiseizure, BetaBlockers, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Heparin, Insulin, Levophed, Magnesium Sulfate, Milrinone, Nitroglycerin, Norepinephrine.
- Possess skills in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, procedural sedation, chest tubes, Emerson/Pleur-evac, tracheostomy management.
- Use EPIC for documentation.
- Complete 40 hours of orientation and pre-start modules. Candidates must be prepared to float to other campuses within a 40-mile radius if needed. Travel arrangements for floating are the responsibility of the traveler.
