We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the Western Nebraska Veterans' Home. As an On-Call/PRN Registered Nurse, you will provide professional nursing care to our residents, working closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the highest level of care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care and treatments within the scope of licensure
- Coordinate and monitor patient care activities, ensuring quality care and adherence to standards
- Train and orient new staff members on nursing care standards and techniques
- Assess patient health status, implement nursing interventions, and evaluate patient progress
- Administer medications and supervise the administration of medications by licensed or certified staff members
- Consult with physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, and other treatment staff members to ensure quality patient care
- Write reports on patient progress, medication use, and other relevant information
- Ensure patient records are accurate and up-to-date
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Nebraska or authority based on the Nurse Licensure Compact
- Knowledge of nursing theory and practice, accepted standards of care, and policies and procedures governing nursing care
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, push/pull occasionally up to 50 lbs, and bend, twist, and walk/stand up to 50% of the shift
