We are seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract at UnityPoint Iowa Methodist Medical Center. As a key member of our maternity care team, you will provide compassionate and expert care to expecting and new mothers, supporting them through the labor and delivery process.
**Job Summary:**
- Provide individualized care to patients in the labor and delivery department, working closely with obstetricians and other healthcare professionals to ensure a safe and successful delivery.
- Assess patient needs, develop and implement personalized care plans, and collaborate with other healthcare providers to coordinate care.
- Monitor fetal heart rates, track patient progress, and respond to emergencies as needed.
- Conduct educational sessions with patients and families on pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care.
**What You'll Need:**
- A current RN license in the state of Iowa
- Experience in labor and delivery nursing, preferably in a hospital setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Ability to maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors
