Job Summary

Apex Therapeutic Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a School Nurse (RN) in the Long Island, NY area. As a School Nurse, you will provide exceptional care to children ages 4 through 18, working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.

Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care to students, including administering medications, performing wound care, and providing first aid as needed.
  • Conduct observations and assessments of patient condition and needs, documenting all patient care actions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitor and interpret vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure, to identify any potential health concerns.
  • Assist with the development of patient care plans, working collaboratively with teachers and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.
  • Educate caregivers with information to assist with the care of the patient, including providing guidance on medication administration and wound care.
Requirements
  • Valid NY State RN License
  • 1+ year of nursing experience, preferably in a pediatric setting.
  • Knowledge of Diabetes and Asthma management, including the ability to develop and implement care plans for students with these conditions.
  • Pediatric experience, including the ability to work with children of all ages and abilities.
  • CPR Certification, including the ability to perform CPR and other life-saving interventions as needed.
  • TB test within one year, to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff.
