Mile Bluff Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Athletic Trainer to join our team. As an Athletic Trainer, you will be responsible for providing medical care to active individuals of all ages and in various settings.
Key Responsibilities- Coverage and Events: Provide medical coverage for athletic events and after-school activities at a contracted high school.
- Injury Prevention and Management: Prevent, evaluate, and manage/rehab athletic injuries, including collecting histories, performing physical evaluations, diagnosing injuries, and determining a plan of action.
- Concussion Management: Assess and diagnose concussions, manage symptoms, and determine when an athlete may safely return to activity.
- Documentation and Analysis: Document treatments/evaluations and analyze root causes or potential causes of injuries to prevent future injuries.
- Occupational Health and Rehab Services: Provide occupational health and rehab services, including POETs, desk assessments, and FPNs.
- Functional Progress Assessments: Perform functional progress assessments, post-offer employment tests, and job-specific conditioning programs to determine when a patient may safely return to work.
- Coordination and Collaboration: Coordinate schedules for coverage of events and work as a physician extender in the orthopedic clinic, taking histories, scheduling surgeries, and educating patients.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology required.
- Experience: 1+ years related work experience required.
- Licensure and Certification: Must hold and maintain a current Athletic Trainer license by the state of Wisconsin and certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers.
- Skills and Abilities: Intermediate to expert proficiency with computers, ability to perform musculoskeletal examinations, and knowledge of emergency care and occupational health.
