Network Architect

Job Summary:

PRTC is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing PRTC's data networks, including core routers, aggregation switches, data center infrastructure, VoIP networks, security systems, transport networks, and video distribution networks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership in the design, implementation, and administration of PRTC's data networks with an emphasis on the underlying EVPN core network.
• Develop design specifications, technical requirements, technical diagrams, and documentation needed to ensure successful delivery of data services and applications.
• Manage IP core routers, including configuration, software upgrades, and capacity planning.
• Research new technologies to ensure PRTC is deploying networks capable of delivering advanced products and services.
• Monitor and manage PRTC's IP data networks for capacity and performance needs, recognizing needed enhancements to the networks in advance of customer impact.
• Provide technical service and support to our Managed Services product line, including designing new customer networks, assisting with research, quotes for new projects, and providing remote and on-site technical support for managed business customers.
• Provide recommendations on capital budget planning required for company plans and objectives for all related network equipment.

Requirements:

• Advanced knowledge of IP networking protocols and architectures, such as ISIS, MP-BGP in an EVPN, and segment routing in an active/active environment.
• Strong knowledge of the OSI model, TCP/IP, IP routing, and CIDR notation.
• In-depth working knowledge of LAN/WAN troubleshooting, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, NAT, QoS, and Ethernet wiring standards.
• Maintains mentoring relationship with junior personnel and provides training to other segments of the Network Engineering Department.
• Must be able to create and maintain networking typologies and diagrams, documenting the creation of or additions to PRTC's data networks.

Education and Experience:

• Associate's degree in computer science or related field required, bachelor's degree in computer science preferred, but will consider equivalent combinations of education and experience.
• Five or more years of experience in IP network operations, WAN and LAN technologies, and protocols.
• Must have a current Cisco CCNA certificate or industry equivalents.
