Job Summary:

Vallarta Supermarkets is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Asset Protection Detective to join our team. As an Asset Protection Detective, you will be responsible for preventing and investigating shoplifting crimes, recovering assets, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough investigations of shoplifting incidents, including gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses
  • Apprehend and detain suspects in accordance with company guidelines and law enforcement procedures
  • Recover stolen assets and return them to their rightful owners
  • Prepare and submit detailed incident reports to corporate office
  • Testify in court as needed to prosecute shoplifting cases
  • Collaborate with store management and security personnel to develop and implement effective loss prevention strategies

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior loss prevention experience preferred but not required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods
