Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mechanic Trainee to join our team at Chelan County PUD. As a key member of our Generation Mechanic job series, you will assist with the construction, repair, and maintenance of hydro generation plant equipment and auxiliary equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with basic mechanical equipment testing, repair, and maintenance tasks.
  • Provide labor support as directed.
  • Assist with basic construction and fabrication of structures or equipment.
  • Operate shop tools and heavy equipment as needed under direct supervision.
Requirements
  • Equivalent experience (year for year) may substitute for required education.
  • Two years of college education, two years of trade school with technical emphasis, or comparable work history desired.
  • Typically requires six (6) months' work history demonstrating mechanical aptitude and ability to perform physically demanding work required.
  • Valid Driver's License at hire and WA Driver's License within 30 days of hire required.
  • CPR Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation with Valid First Aid Card required.
Working Conditions

This is an entry-level position that requires regular and predictable attendance. You will be expected to maintain a working knowledge and comply with District safety procedures and specific safety requirements of this position, and those in accordance with applicable provisions of the Revised Code of Washington (RCW) and Washington Administrative Code (WAC).
