Pediatric Care Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Pediatric Care Assistant to join our team at El Paso Children's Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care to our pediatric patients, working closely with licensed personnel to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the delivery of quality patient care, performing tasks as directed by licensed personnel.
  • Obtain vital signs, provide personal care items, and orient patients to their room.
  • Identify changes in patient condition, abnormal vital signs, and intake/output, notifying licensed personnel promptly.
  • Participate in the development and prioritization of individualized care plans, working collaboratively with the healthcare team.
  • Assist with discharge planning, communicating with patients and families to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Provide safe and efficient care, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings, staying informed about hospital updates and best practices.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Completion of a Nurse Assistant program, preferred.
  • Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification, preferred.
  • Current BLS certification, American Heart Association (Healthcare Provider) or American Red Cross (Healthcare Provider).
  • Minimum 6 months of nursing assistant experience, preferred.
