Material Control Manager

The Material Control Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production facility by effectively managing material inventory, tracking locations, and providing timely reporting to support quality assurance audits.
This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities- Interface with Project, Production, QA, and Customer teams to ensure seamless project schedules.
- Arrange transportation efforts and collaborate closely with Shipping and Receiving teams.
- Ensure stored materials are properly stored on dunnage, off the ground, and oriented to prevent water accumulation.
- Pump and cover materials that cannot be oriented to divert rainwater.
- Perform receipt inspections upon material arrival, checking for damage or unidentified markings.
- Receive, document, and log materials from customers and vendors.
- Verify material quantities match customer-provided bills of material and shipping manifests.
- Notify Project Management and Customers of any material liabilities due to damaged, improperly marked, or unreceived materials.
- Record and document material liabilities, providing weekly updates to Project Management and Customers.
- Track and document materials and equipment for proper allocation to the Production Team and facility storage.
- Identify, package, label, and coordinate 'loose material' shipments to customers.
- Develop requisitions and manage records of equipment, components, and repair parts needed for Production Teams.
- Collaborate with Production and Project Teams to establish, document, and requisition consumables, equipment, and tooling, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Review, document, and modify material logs due to updated revisions or VIRs provided by Customers and Project Management Teams.
- Maintain received materials' proper labeling and identification markings throughout the build cycle.
- Coordinate material movements and support scheduled 'need-by dates' with Project Management and Production Teams.
- Assess and assign tasks to employees, ensuring proper execution while adhering to company safety standards and practices.
- Notify the Safety Department and second-tier management of any safety incidents or issues.
- Maintain reports, records, and documentation reflecting department activities.
- Compile records of unfilled orders.
- Prepare bills of lading when required.
- Prepare records for management and maintain appropriate shipping and receiving documentation.
- May hire, train, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.
- Assist workers in shipping and receiving activities.
- 3 years of field experience.
- Solid computer skills.
- Excellent communication and language skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills.
- Must pass a drug test and background check.
- Ability to lift 20 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally safely.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods, bend, reach, and move about the facility.
This position is NOT physically demanding and may accommodate most physical disabilities. There may be occasional lifting of office materials or files weighing not more than 20 pounds. Physical dexterity may be required when operating calculators, copiers, computers, and/or other typical office equipment.
Known Hazards: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Environmental Conditions:
This position works in a production/office environment, exposing individuals to hostile environments, loud noises, hazardous chemicals/fumes, airborne particles, smoke, extreme temperatures, moving mechanical parts: high, precarious places.
During work-site visits, personnel will be required to wear appropriate PPE, including but not limited to: hard hats, ear plugs or attenuators, safety shoes, dust masks or respirators, gloves.
