Job Summary

As a key member of our public safety team, you will be responsible for enforcing laws and ordinances, preventing and investigating crimes, and providing assistance to citizens in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol designated areas of the city to preserve law and order and prevent the commission of crimes.
  • Respond to citizen requests for service, aid, and information, and render assistance as needed.
  • Investigate accidents and crimes, gather evidence, and interview witnesses and suspects.
  • Prepare reports and maintain records of investigations and incidents.
  • Testify in court as needed.
  • Perform specialized duties such as traffic enforcement, accident investigation, and prisoner transportation.
Requirements
  • Must be 21 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be certified as a Peace Officer in a First-Class County in Missouri or be able to obtain certification.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
Working Conditions

The Police Officer position requires working in a variety of environments, including extreme weather conditions, and exposure to hazardous materials and situations. The position also requires the ability to lift and move heavy objects, and to work in a physically demanding environment.
