About the Role:
Dynamet Incorporated's Clearwater, FL facility is seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Performance Engineered Products division, you will be responsible for managing the activities of EHS for one plant, directing the development and implementation of compliance-related policies and procedures, and assessing product, compliance, or operational risk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage EHS activities for one plant, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Develop and implement compliance-related policies and procedures, verifying their documentation, implementation, and communication.
- Assess product, compliance, or operational risk and develop risk management strategies.
- Conduct internal investigations of compliance issues and periodic reviews or audits to ensure compliance procedures are followed.
- Disseminate written policies and procedures related to compliance activities and file compliance reports with regulatory agencies.
- Stay informed about industry changes, trends, and best practices, assessing their potential impact on organizational processes.
- Develop goals and objectives for the EHS area of responsibility, aligned with those of Corporate EHS, and support the development and implementation of plans to meet these goals.
- Gain and maintain knowledge of existing manufacturing systems, quality systems, and process control techniques.
- Define and communicate performance expectations for salaried staff, coach, and counsel them in the performance of job responsibilities, and support the development and management of the EHS budget.
- Lead organizational change in regards to educating, coaching, and mentoring on behavioral-based safety initiatives.
Requirements:
- Four-year college degree preferred; High School Diploma required.
- 3+ years of experience in a Safety or Environmental position, with experience in a manufacturing environment a plus.
- Experience developing strategic plans and tracking measures to improve EHS in areas of responsibility.
- Proven experience effectively coaching and giving performance feedback and providing development opportunities within the area of responsibility.
- Requires experience directing and supervising others, with the ability to effectively coach, give performance feedback, and provide development opportunities within the area of responsibility or department.
- Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to persuade and manage at all levels within the Company.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and organizational skills.
- Proven coaching and facilitation skills with a track record of successful change management.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
