We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing accurate and timely laboratory testing, ensuring the highest quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform complex laboratory testing, analyzing proficiency testing samples, and completing results within established turnaround time targets.
- Assume responsibility of the department as needed, demonstrating leadership and independent thinking in the correlation and interpretation of patient results.
- Complete all required records and documentation, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of patient results.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to resolve any outstanding workload or communicate with staff relief.
- Perform quality control procedures, handling problem and/or critical laboratory specimens/test results.
- A 2-year/Associate Degree in Medical Technology or a related field is required; a 4-year/Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist is preferred.
- A State of Florida Technologist License is required or the ability to obtain a license during the interview process.
- Technologist License in one or more clinical specialty areas, including Blood bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, and Microbiology.
