Skokomish Indian Tribe is seeking a highly skilled Aquatic Invasive Species Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our shellfish team, you will be responsible for detecting, assessing, and removing aquatic invasive species in Hood Canal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with state co-managers and partners to develop and implement removal efforts and regional rapid response actions for new detections.
  • Conduct land-based and boat-based trapping assessments to determine distribution and abundance of European Green Crab and other invasive species.
  • Assemble and operate field gear, navigate to remote locations, and set traps to detect and remove invasive species.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in fisheries science or related field, or associate's degree with two years of relevant experience.
  • Valid driver's license and eligibility for the Tribe's automobile insurance.
  • Physical fitness to work in rugged terrain and on the water in all weather conditions.
  • Understanding of and sensitivity to the particular problems faced by the Native American community.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen test and background investigation.
