Position Overview: The Security Operations Analyst plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing a sophisticated CCTV surveillance system aimed at safeguarding the assets of CarMax locations nationwide. This position involves effective communication with local law enforcement and store personnel to ensure the efficient resolution of security incidents. The analyst will work collaboratively with team members on a rotating overnight shift schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage Command Center technologies to protect CarMax assets across various locations.
  • Respond promptly to a continuous stream of system alerts from multiple technologies, including video analytics, assessing potential criminal activities and determining appropriate responses.
  • Engage with law enforcement and management to ensure all incidents are thoroughly resolved.
  • Document all incidents meticulously in the company’s case management system.
  • Address burglar alarm activities reported by third-party alarm services, analyzing CCTV footage to differentiate between criminal activity and false alarms.
  • Assist store managers with live activity reviews and CCTV support, coordinating third-party security coverage when necessary.
  • Conduct daily audits to verify the functionality of video and security technologies.
  • Maintain security equipment and report any issues requiring attention.
  • Collaborate with internal partners and vendors to resolve security equipment-related challenges.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Role Purpose: In alignment with our core value of prioritizing people, the primary duty of the Security Operations Analyst is to monitor security systems to ensure the safety of company associates and property while identifying potential criminal activities. The analyst will adhere to departmental protocols to maintain the functionality and integrity of security platforms, exercising sound judgment in response to alerts and incidents, often in partnership with fellow analysts.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required; a college degree is preferred.
  • Two years of experience in a Loss Prevention or Security-related field is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Strong ethical standards are essential.
  • Availability to work overnight shifts on weekends is required.
