This Mental Health Technician role offers an incredible opportunity to expand your skills and expertise in healthcare through collaboration with a dynamic interdisciplinary treatment team. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting unit operations through excellent patient customer service and clinic management assistance
  • Collaborating with physicians, clinical staff, front office staff, and clinic management to ensure comprehensive health care outcomes
  • Performing various functions within the clinic setting, requiring specialized knowledge and integration of available standards, resources, and data
  • Advocating for ethical and holistic care, promoting the autonomy, dignity, and health of patients from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds
  • Assisting with maintaining a safe and hazard-free environment by observing and documenting patient behavior, conducting patient room searches, reporting unsafe conditions, and applying appropriate emotional and physical support
  • Providing and documenting interventions in various modalities individually matched to the needs of each patient

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or any other human services field required; two years of inpatient Behavioral Health experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Must obtain Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor registration within 60 days of hire unless a higher credential is held
  • Must obtain a Nursing Assistant Registered or CNA prior to start date
  • Health Care Provider level CPR certification Peer MHT: Self-identify as a consumer who has received mental health services and can demonstrate that they have been well grounded in their own mental health recovery for at least one year
  • Must be eligible for Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor
  • Minimum one (1) year of direct patient care experience preferred
