Job Summary

The Clinical Assistant Nurse Manager (CANM) is a key leadership role within the Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital, responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality patient care and ensuring exceptional customer experiences. As a CANM, you will lead the shift operations, providing guidance and fostering collaboration among team members to achieve optimal patient flow and quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead shift operations to ensure delivery of high-quality patient care and exceptional customer experiences.
  • Manage staffing assignments to meet patient care needs and ensure optimal patient flow.
  • Coordinate patient flow and work with Administrative Supervisors, Care Coordinators, and Discharge Planners to achieve expected outcomes.
  • Monitor patient status and closely monitor seriously ill patients.
  • Coordinate and/or participate in the delivery of patient care, ensuring compliance with physician orders and established policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
  • Serve as a resource supporting frontline team members and providers as needed.
  • Support clinical collaboration focusing on expected patient length of stay.
  • Perform direct patient care activities as required to meet operational needs.
  • Interface with patients and families to enhance customer experience.
  • Participate in and/or lead safety huddles.
  • Embrace, communicate, and promote change and problem-solving.
  • Assess equipment needs to ensure staff have the necessary equipment for patient care.
  • Support and sustain all leader-driven initiatives.
  • Assist with retention strategies for new team members.
  • Maintain a regulatory ready environment of care.
  • Ensure the appropriate allocation/adjustment of staff and assignment of meal breaks.
  • Utilize effective fiscal management skills and financial resources with decision-making.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN) preferred.
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Certification in area of expertise; preferred.
  • May require one or more of the following certifications based on the assigned patient population:
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
    • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Nurse within the hospital setting.
